Species-specific aquatic viewing habitats for hippos, penguins and otters, using independent life-support loops with centralized operational monitoring.
Several habitats, several water systems
The domestic case record describes separate aquatic exhibits for hippos, penguins and otters. Their water temperature, organic loading, viewing geometry and behavioural risks differ, so the treatment loops are separated rather than treated as one small oceanarium.
Central visibility without cross-contamination
Independent mechanical, biological and temperature-control systems can be monitored through a central operations interface. This preserves species-specific water conditions while giving operators a consolidated view of alarms and trends.
Design around animal behaviour
Large mammals can impose impact loads and damage exposed components. Viewing panels, frames, pipework, sensors, access and system capacity must reflect both routine husbandry and short-duration loading events.
