A practical operating checklist covering continuous circulation, lighting schedules, water top-up, filter cleaning, protein skimmer maintenance and safe acrylic cleaning.

Keep essential systems running

Circulation and life-support equipment normally operate continuously. Where power interruption is unavoidable, operators need a documented contingency plan and an appropriate backup power strategy.

Routine care

Use controlled lighting schedules, maintain the correct sump water level, clean mechanical filter media on schedule, service protein skimmers and record water-quality results. Only trained personnel should feed animals or add substances to the water.

Protect the acrylic surface

Do not use abrasive cloths, hard tools or unsuitable chemical cleaners on acrylic. Prevent cleaning products from entering the water and contact the maintenance team when abnormal conditions are observed.
